Rebalancing the Feminine and Masculine Energy Within

Many women are living almost entirely in their masculine energy right now. Not because they want to, but because society has asked it of them.

We’ve been conditioned to be strong, productive and endlessly multitasking. To hold everything together for the sake of family and career opportunities. To step away from being the nurturer, the receiver, and instead to do more. Over time, this constant pushing and juggling sends our nervous system into a state of overwhelm. We stay switched on, alert and barely coping.

Trapped in a permanent state of 'doing', often without even realising how far we’ve drifted from ourselves.

Then perimenopause arrives!

Suddenly what we’ve been managing for years feels harder to ignore. Hormonal shifts magnify the imbalance that’s already there. The body asks us to slow down, while the mind is still trying to keep up the same pace. This is often when exhaustion, emotional sensitivity and a sense of disconnection surface. We are being urged to go inwards, to reconnect and find more balance.

At the heart of this yearning for more is the relationship between divine masculine and divine feminine energy. The divine feminine is the energy of receiving. It represents softness, intuition, creativity, presence and flow. The divine masculine is the energy that protects and provides. It creates safety, structure and boundaries so the feminine can relax and feel supported.

Independence has been celebrated as empowerment, yet for many women it’s meant holding everything alone. The body remembers that we’re not designed for constant self-reliance, and that we thrive in duality. True power lies within strength and softness, action and support.

When these energies are in balance, we feel safe in our bodies. We feel connected to ourselves, to others, and to source energy. This is the state where creativity flows naturally and manifestation feels easeful, not forced. You’re no longer pushing for outcomes and are open, grounded and deserving of receiving.

Perimenopause can be a powerful invitation to return to this balance. It highlights all to quickly where we may not feel safe to speak up about the impact of these hormonal shifts. To soften the grip of constant doing and remember the power of being. Rest is not a weakness. Receiving is not indulgent. It’s a vital part of coming home to yourself.

Choose one small thing this week that allows you to receive. This could be in the form of rest, support, or just holding space.

For me personally, reconnecting with my divine feminine has been about remembering what brings me back into my body and out of my head. Dancing has become a powerful doorway.  It’s something I loved in my twenties and somehow forgot along the way. Moving without an agenda, without getting it “right”, simply allowing the body to flow.

Spending time in nature also shifts energy. Being outside without a tight schedule, without a phone constantly pinging for attention. This allows the nervous system to calm.

Creativity plays a big part too. Start an art project, learning something purely for the joy of it, not because it’s productive or leads anywhere.

Perhaps most importantly, it’s been about building a supportive network around you. Creating safety and security through connection with like minded souls who truly understand you. Let go of the belief that you have to do everything alone, and learn that asking for help is not weakness, it's an act of trust and self care.

As you soften into receiving, everything begins to feel more aligned.
